We've recently remodeled adding a new professionally made dance floor along with mirrors and adjustable ballet bares. Our studio is climate controlled with a comfortable viewing area and lobby for parents to enjoy. The studio is unique because of the personal service you receive from the owner.

Owner/Instructor - Morgan Cate

My background

I have been dancing for 27 years and hold a bachelors of Arts degree in Dance and Theatrical Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I keep up to date with new styles of dancing and continue to review classical styles of dancing by attending dance conventions held by professional dance teachers and chorographers. I've enjoyed living in Little Rock, Chicago and Atlanta and have studied with many wonderful, professional teachers. One of my favorite dance experiences was performing in the Van Johnson Broadway Show "Memories".

I taught dance for 5 years in Atlanta and was named teacher of the year in 2006 for Gwinnett County. In 2004 my "baby yoga" class was featured on the front page of the Gwinnett section of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Also, Tutu's on Broadway was recently featured in the Oviedo Voice Newspaper. I hold a Florida Teaching certificate and am certified to teach dance in Florida public schools. Tutu's on Broadway is my third studio to own. I am please to be in Oviedo and look forward to being a part of the community.

I have two small children ages six and two. As a mother, I can relate to other mothers and their everyday struggles. I try very hard to make dance class a positive experience for both parents and students.

My philosophy

I grew up studying ballet in a small studio where the owner taught all the classes. My teacher was a prima ballerina from the Royal Ballet Academy and I share my former teachers philosophy on dance instruction. I believe classes should be kept small to insure enough one- on- one time with each dancer. A qualified adult teacher with a degree in dance should follow a progressive syllabus while teaching classes. The class make-up should be the perfect balance of structure and fun. I personally teach all classes and remain on hand to answer questions and to assist parents. We are a performing studio and offer an optional year-end recital. We do not participate in "competitions" because I feel dance competitions can be time consuming, expensive and stressful for dancers and their parents.

Introduce your child to the wonderful world of dance with classes at Tutu's On Broadway.
